- Hello,
-
- I have an A3000 with an A3640 working in it. It has 10meg RAM, 100meg
- Quantum HD, EGS Spectrum gfx card under EGS 7.1, Dell external HD floppy,
- and an Exabyte 8200 tape drive. I'm running a WD SCSI rev.08, Ramsey rev.
- 07, and DMAC rev. 04. I've not upgraded the Buster yet.
-
- My question concerns memory access with the A3640. I have all static
- column zips in the A3000, and benchmark programs show the memory access to
- be the same speed as an A4000, MUCH slower than an A3000. I've heard talk
- of there being a memory bottleneck on the A4000, so does this mean that
- since I'm running it's CPU board that I've inherited this memory slowdown?
-
- I've not noticed much of a speed increase with most things, though CPU
- intensive tasks, such as GMPlay do show quite an increase from before. BTW,
- I do have Setpatch installed at startup, and I'm running OS 3.1.
